Stover is a city in Morgan County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,094 at the 2010 census. The city is located at the intersection of Missouri routes 52 and 135, approximately seven miles east of Versailles and eleven miles west of Cole Camp. Stover was founded in 1875 and named after John Hubler Stover, a U.S. Representative from Missouri. The city grew rapidly in the early 1900s, due to the arrival of the St. Louis-Kansas City Colorado Railroad. Today, Stover is a quiet, rural community with a strong sense of community.
